Are you tired of dealing with car repair?  We were.  We founded the Wicked Good Mechanics because there was a void in the automotive repair market. Customer service and honest repairs are hard to find while mechanics all expect you to come to them, drop off your car for days, and pay whatever they tell you. There really has been very little innovation in car repair for 30-40 years. Most repair shops today look almost the same as they would have in 1960. They also make their money by overcharging customers instead of running an efficient business.

We are changing all that. We cut the cost out of car repair so that we can offer you better service at a better price. Often we can come to you and repair a vehicle on-site for less than any other shop. And on top of that we consistently achieve excellent reviews from our customers. We are mobile mechanics on a mission: to make car repair easy and friendly.

Mobile Mechanics on a Mission

Alexander Tallett, MBA

Alexander is a car nut and graduate of the F.W. Olin School of Business at Babson College, as well as an undergrad at Colby College. He is an expert in the car repair industry and gives regular talks on the subject. In previous roles he has been quoted in The New York Times, The Wall St. Journal and appeared on World News Tonight.

Robert Gouveia, ASE L1 Master Tech

Rob Gouveia is the VP of Service and brings decades of car repair experience including an ASE L1 Master Tech certification. He has worked on every major brand of car and in his spare time is working on a few project cars including a Dadsun 260Z, Ford Thunderbird, and VW Beetle. He specializes in the difficult diagnostic work most mechanics prefer to avoid.

The numbers for car repair are not good. 65% of Americans would rather do their taxes BY HAND than deal with car repair.  77% of car repair shops overcharge according to a CBS study.  The same study found that prices at shops are often inflated by as much as 400%.

So how do we make car repair different? There is no magic bullet, just a lot of hard work. First, we pay our mechanics a fair salary instead of paying them by the job like every other shop. That way, they get paid to do good work on every car rather than have an incentive to upsell and work as quickly as possible.

We also use technology. You can't fix cars with a website, but you can make it a lot easier for your customers by adding features like booking and updates over email, before and after pictures, easy online estimates and keeping a database of repairs so we always know what work has been done to for every customer.

In the end, a lot of it comes down to our commitment. We want to change the industry. We want to build the first mobile car repair company in the US and at the same time combine those mobile mechanic services with an industry leading technology platform. And we are doing it all right here in Boston. Look for us at MassChallenge, the Babson Venture Accelerator, and a news outlet near you.

We are also hiring the world's best mechanics. So if you know one looking for a position at a car repair company which actually treats its mechanics well, let us know. We are really easy to reach:
